2019 International Conference on Smart Power & Internet Energy Systems (SPIES 2019) has been held on April 25-27, 2019 at School of Engineering, Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Participants were from various institution in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Singapore, Egypt, France, Poland, and Australia. Event on April 25 mainly was a registration day, where the committee give the authors and attendees conference kit and explain the schedule for the next day. Actual conference started at April 26 at 9. 00 AM Melbourne time (GMT +10) with opening remarks from SPIES Organizing Committee, followed shortly by keynote speech I, “Power Electronics and the Emerging Smart Grid” by Prof. Grahame Holmes from RMIT University, which talked about why power electronic converters are so flexible and attractive for Distributed Generation systems. He explained how the fundamental properties of these systems make them so versatile, how these properties particularly suit Distributed Generation needs and requirements. Finally, the current challenges of large scale usage of power electronic converters in electrical grid systems will be considered, looking at both technical challenges that are still to be overcome, and the operational control challenges that are still in the early stages of development. Keynote II - “Advanced Synchrophasors Data Analytics for Control and Dynamic Stability Monitoring in Smart Grids” byProf. Innocent Kamwa from Hydro-Quebec Research Institute (IREQ), Canada who discusses a comprehensive framework for phasor analytics deemed necessary to enable advanced wide-area control and monitoring applications in smart grids. Keynote III about “Power Systems Evolutions and Challenges for Specialists, Utilities and Simulation Tool Suppliers” was delivered by Mr. Jean Bélanger, who is the President of OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES, Montreal, Canada. After a short break and group photo, Prof. Mohamed El Hachemi Benbouzid University of Brest, France talked about "On Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Optimal and Fault-Tolerant Control: Issues, Solutions, and Recommendations" followed by keynote speech about Evolution of the Electric Grid by Prof. Tyrone Fernando from University of Western Australia, Australia. The last keynote speech was delivered by Prof. S. M. Muyeen from Curtin University, Australia who explained about ICT Enabled Wide Area Control for Smart Grid. At around 1pm, the speech ended and followed by lunch. After lunch, first session of the conference began. There are six parallel sessions at for each allocated time (around 1. 5 hours) which started at 1. 50 PM on 26 April and ended at 5. 30pm. The parallel session held in three different rooms which allowed us to join the theme that linear with our research topic. The closing ceremony was held in the main conference room to announce three best papers from authors who presented the paper. I presented my research, entitled “Feasibility of Algae Photobioreactor as Façade in the Office Building in Indonesia" on the session two about Distributed Generations and Microgrid chaired by Dr. Enamul Haque in KE2. 202 room. After that I join session V Power Electronics and Energy Conversion, chaired by Dr. Sajeeb Sahaand and Session IV about Smart Building, Smart Cities and Smart Grid. in the part 2 of Session VII 'Clean Energy and Renewable Energy' chaired by Dr. Nur Azfahani Ahmad.
