Training
The objective of the training are: 1. To provide information on main ethical and bioethical issues and to the ones relative to the use of non-human animals for human purposes. 2. To present the different theoretical approaches to bioethics applied to the human and animal sphere.

This activity is well organized in 3 days Training (August 6 – 8, 2018) at Padjadjaran Suites Hotel, Bogor. The target of this activity was attended by minimum 18 participants, consisting of 4 scholars from Bogor Agricultural University as a lead of CCR ANBIOCORE and 14 scholars from affiliate institutions. Meanwhile, actual participants in this activity were 29 scholars, which consists of 16 scholars from Bogor Agricultural University, 2 scholars from Syiah Kuala University, 2 scholars from Padjadjaran University, 2 scholars from Brawijaya University, 2 scholars from University of Nusa Cendana, 2 scholars from University of Udayana, 1 scholar from University of Mataram, and 2 scholars from University of Papua. Participants both from lead and affiliates are scholars with minimum education of Master Degree. The method used in this activity is presentation method with question and answer (discussion) session. After the presentation, we held a coaching clinic where participants can present their research paper and discussed by resource persons and other participants. Resource persons in this Training are: Prof. Erdoğan Memili Professor Reproduction and Development, Functional Genomics Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences Mississippi State University Materials: 1. Introduction to Bioethics & Ethical Frameworks 2. Bioethics Applied to Lab Animals, including the 3 Rs 3. Pain and Analgesia 4. Positive Re-enforcement, Habituation/Conditioning, Preference Tests and Socialization of Animals Dr. rer. nat Hawis Madduppa, S. Pi., M. Si Associate Professor Head of Marine Biodiversity and Biosystematics Laboratory Department of Marine Science and Technology Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Materials: 1. Environmental Enrichment and Behavioral Indicators of Welfare 2. Concepts in Laboratory of Animal Experimentation 3. Re-use and the Legal, Practical and Ethical Issues on Re-homing after Use of Animals in Research Participants/Scholars from lead and affiliate institutions had brought material presentation from their own research, and had been discussed with resource persons in coaching clinic session.
Participants/scholars increase knowledge in Animal and Fisheries Bioethics, and also capability in writing as well as sharping communication skills to become more effective science communicator.
There was still a delay in the time, caused by the long break time. Participants are still having difficulty in understanding about Animal and Fisheries Bioethics.
By bringing their own manuscripts, researchers can immediately get inputs to improve their scientific writing Coaching clinic method is very effective to know the scientific mistakes of researchers, personally with resource person.
For the next training at, we will create scientific writing group, mentored by resource person. We will combine training with research in field, so participants could get new experiences about research method directly.
