The research activity was opened by introductory and opening speeches from Prof Cissy, Dr Apandi, and Dr. Atik; followed by a series of study activities: screening by field doctor, physical examination by resident, blood sampling by phlebotomist, vaccination by nurse, 30-minute observation, explanation on how to fill the Diary Card, and compensation distribution.

Summary of the discussion are mentioned below: •On July 15, 51 subjects were recruited (30 subjects from geriatric clinic and 21 subjects from the community/Posbindu). A total of 52 vaccines were used because one of the subject claimed he had not been vaccinated yet. The nurse had prepared another vaccine to be injected when the study team found proof that the subject had been vaccinated (the vaccine label had been pasted on his Diary Card) at last minute. In the end, the vaccine was used to vaccinate the field doctor; •On July 16, 58 subjects were recruited (38 subject from geriatric clinic and 19 subjects from the community/Posbindu); •On July 17, 62 subjects were recruited (37 subject from geriatric clinic and 25 subjects from the community/Posbindu), but 1 subject was sick so she was excluded. •On July 18, 48 subjects were recruited (23 subject from geriatric clinic and 25 subjects from the community/Posbindu); but 3 subjects were excluded due to egg allergy and acute illness. •On July 19, 23 subjects were recruited (all of them are from geriatric clinic); •The total participant of the elderly study was 238 subjects.
